WELCOME TO SLOTALIA

Alenka Marinič and Giovanni Fusetti are embarking on their second 10-day artistic walk THE ROUTE TO THE ROUTES within the Along the Walk project. They walk along the Italian-Slovenian border, starting on September 12 in Ročinj and ending on September 21 in Monfalcone / Tržič.  

WELCOME TO SLOTALIA is a vivid storytelling-theater evening in public space in Slovenian and Italian. It is a playful show about the story of the land and the people that live by the border betweeen Slovenia and Italy. An evening filled with historical facts, humor, songs, mad characters and an unexpected twist at the end, driven and told by two virtuosic storytellers, Giovanni Fusetti and Alenka Marinič. A show for all generations made from the land and for the people that live there. Join us in Slotalia!

Giovanni Fusetti è COVIVIDO: un incrocio tra un Buffone, uno Zanni e …un Virus. In questi tempi folli di triage, distanziamento sociale e sanificazione compulsiva, Covivido non vi lascerà scampo nel rispettare le mirabolanti misure anti-contagio. Invasivo, insinuante, tachente e saltellante.

Giovanni Fusetti is COVIVIDO: a crossbreed between a Bouffon, a Zanni and…a Virus. In these crazy times of tracing, social distancing and compulsive sanification, Covivido will ruthlessly enforce the wondrous anti-infection regulations. Intrusive, pervasive, sticky and outrageously hopping.

Based on the true stories of four generations of women and their devilish alter egos, Mockingbird explores postnatal distress, which affects approximately one in seven women and many men every year.
Written by Lisa Brickell in collaboration with composer Sarah Macombee and dramaturge Ruth Dudding, Mockingbird is performed by Lecoq trained actor Lisa Brickell and musician/actor Siri Embla. Directed by Giovanni Fusetti and Ruth Dudding, Mockingbird follows Tina (Brickell), a counsellor who is afraid of commitment and terrified of having children due to her family history of postnatal depression. Brickell masterfully switches between four generations of characters and their hilarious ‘inner critic’ which she performs in a Commedia dell’arte style half mask.

2000-2023

THE RED NOSE & CLOWN’S LIFE

During this period of time Giovanni Fusetti has run 33 editions of THE RED NOSE TRAINING, a month intensive culminating with the devising and performance of a CLOWN VARIETY SHOW, developed by the participants through improvisation and devising, under Giovanni’s direction.
Eleven of these trainings were part of a long term program at KIKLOS School (Padova, ITALY), HELIKOS School (Florence ITALY), NAROPA UNIVERSITY (Boulder, USA), LISPA (London) and PIG IRON SCHOOL (Philadelphia, USA).
Other 19 editions were autonomously organized by Giovanni Fusetti in collaboration with different theatre companies and theatres around the world. They took place in Boulder (USA), Minneapolis (USA), Auckland (NZ), Kristiansand (Norway) and Melbourne (Australia).
Since 2022 The Red Nose Training has happened three times in the Helikos Studio in Padova.

Between 2006 and 2023, Giovanni Fusetti has organized and run 6 editions of the advanced red nose training CLOWN’S LIFE, in Boulder, Colorado and one in Melbourne (2023). The training culminates with a show of clown devised acts exploring the poetry of red nose, under Giovanni’s direction.
